Inpatient Children’s Center – St. Cloud Hospital
Our inpatient Children’s Center has a general pediatric unit, pediatric progressive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit. We partner with you to give you the information you need about your child's illness, our services and community resources. You can make decisions and set priorities and are welcome 24 hours a day. Case managers can help with more complex care needs.
Pediatric Unit
The 18 private rooms have an overnight bed for family members, storage for personal belongings and laptop computer desk/hookups. Club Hollow, a dining on call service, lets kids order what they want, when they want. An exam room for more intensive procedures preserves your child's room as a safe haven. The unit is staffed by pediatric hospitalists.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)/Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PPCU)
Our PICU gives one-to-one nursing care and expanded monitoring capabilities to children in Central Minnesota with unstable, life-threatening conditions. Examples include trauma, near-drowning, complicated asthma, diabetes, pneumonia and ongoing seizures. The PICU is staffed by doctors trained in pediatric critical care medicine along with specially trained nurses. As children improve, they move to our PPCU.
