The CentraCare Health Foundation recently awarded $180,000 in Community Grants to seven different projects in Central Minnesota to improve health and healthcare.

CentraCare Health will be hosting the annual Veteran’s Recognition Program on Tuesday, May 22 from 10-11 a.m. in the Hoppe Auditorium at St. Cloud Hospital.

A limited number of free skin cancer screenings by board-certified dermatologists will be offered on May 7 and May 8. Interested participants must call for an appointment time. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Stroke Specialist, Michelle Peterson, APRN, CNP will present at 6 p.m. on May 14 at CentraCare Health Plaza in St. Cloud. The evening includes a free screening, light snacks, beverages and a question and answer session.

This annual award, presented by the Caduceus Society, recognizes the outstanding work of Central Minnesota physicians who exhibit humanitarian medical efforts locally or around the world.

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is offering a free kidney screening through its KEEP Healthy program from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 at Lifestyle Health (located in the St. Cloud Area YMCA).

St. Cloud Hospital received the “LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader” designation. St. Cloud Hospital is one of four Minnesota hospitals to achieve this designation.

Long used in Europe and Canada, nitrous oxide gained favor more recently in the United States. When breathed in, it can help relieve pain and reduce anxiety.
