When having a heart attack, seconds count. The CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center team is ready 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, to open blocked arteries. In fact, we treat more heart attacks than most Twin Cities hospitals.
Why choose us?
STEMI-SC Program
We worked with area hospitals to build a protocol to quickly transfer patients from across Minnesota to our cath labs, saving thousands of lives. One phone call from a partner hospital sets in motion a step-by-step protocol that results in the systematic treatment and transfer of patients. Since 2004, 4,000 patients have participated in the program with their one-year survival rates being 94%.
State-of-the-Art Catheterization (Cath) Labs
Our five cath labs are among the busiest in Minnesota with cardiologists performing:
- Coronary angiography
- Balloon angioplasty
- Stenting
- Intravascular ultrasound
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Impella heart pump
- Fractional flow reserve
- Angiojet
- Rotoblator
- Atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale procedures
- Atherectomy
- Complex and high-risk coronary intervention
Research
We actively take part in research studies. If you tried standard care without success, our research program gives you access to new drugs and treatments.
