Since 1988, thousands of people in Minnesota have benefited from the heart surgery program at CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center. Our three surgeons perform more than 769 heart-related surgeries each year.

In 2018, our program received the top rating by Consumer Reports for open heart surgery, which includes heart bypass and aortic valve replacement. We earned “better than expected” ratings, the highest given, in both areas and are amongst an elite group, being the only hospital in Minnesota and in the entire Midwest to earn top scores in both categories. Our program is one of only 18 hospitals nationwide to earn this honor.
We also were recognized as a top 50 hospital nationally for cardiology and heart surgery in the 2018 U.S. News & World Report, as well as for high performance in heart bypass surgery and aortic valve surgery.
