Good Nutrition Supports Good Health

Nutrition is important for your child’s health, growth and development. Our registered dietitians (RDs) are board certified specialists in pediatric nutrition. Our goal is to help you meet your child’s nutrition needs to optimize growth and health. We provide personalized nutrition care for infants and children through age 17.

Services

We treat a variety of nutrition and feeding-related conditions, including:

  • Poor weight gain or growth
  • Increased rate of weight gain
  • Overweight or obesity
  • Food allergies or intolerances
  • Selective or “picky” eaters
  • Vegetarian and vegan diets
  • Tube feeding nutrition
  • Elevated cholesterol levels
  • General nutrition
What to expect in your first visit

Nutrition visits are held with the child and family members. Any family member who is involved in feeding, meal preparation and grocery shopping is encouraged to come to the visit. Typically, an initial consult will last up to 60 minutes. Your child will need to be present for at least part of the visit to complete a growth assessment. During the visit, the dietitian will ask information regarding medical history along with pertinent nutrition information, such as typical food intake, feeding patterns or eating habits and use of nutrition supplements. A nutrition plan, which may include education and goal setting, will be developed with you and your child.

Appointments

A referral from your child’s medical provider is required prior to seeing a pediatric dietitian. We accept referrals for children from birth through age 17. If you are interested in learning more about our services or scheduling an appointment, call 320-229-4908.

To prepare ahead of time:

  • Consider keeping a feeding log or food diary for a few days prior to your appointment. Bring this with to the appointment.
  • Talk to your health insurance plan about covered services before your appointment.
