Specialized Memory Care
If you or a loved one struggle with Alzheimer's, dementia or other memory problems, you need a care provider with special expertise necessary to help. Compassionate caregiving benefits the resident on so many levels. Our memory care staff have an affinity for this population and truly understand how important their role is in the treatment of this disease. We provide high-quality care without the use of unnecessary chemical or physical restraints. Our staff is specially trained, and the environment and programming are designed to enhance feelings of identity and security, utilizing music, socialization and familiar activities of daily living all within a secured setting.
Family members are important and are included in the plan of care. Family members are encouraged to participate in the daily life and care of their loved one. Both the resident and family are treated as a single unit because our professional belief is that family involvement is a strong attribute of quality care. The family’s knowledge of their loved one is an important link in the plan of care.
Specialized Memory Care includes a wing for those whose wandering puts them at risk. Freedom of movement, socialization and specialized programming provide the environment necessary for residents to achieve their maximum social, mental, physical and spiritual potential. Therapeutic Recreation
The residents' daily living is further enhanced by a variety of social and recreational opportunities that are offered, which encourages each individual to remain active, challenged, stimulated and, most of all, to have fun!
Nutrition
Good nutrition and hydration are essential to the well-being of each of our residents and patients. Care teams consisting of registered nurses, a speech/language pathologist and occupational therapists join with our dietitians and certified dietary managers to provide the best in nutrition services and diet management.
Rehabilitation Services
Your bridge from hospital to home. Our Rehabilitation Services department is a joint venture between St. Benedict’s Senior Community and Rehab Care. Occupational, physical and speech therapists are available on a full-time basis to meet the therapy needs of both long-term care residents and short stay care patients. Therapists use the most contemporary equipment, therapy techniques and treatment programs to ensure that all individuals treated can realize their full potential.
Respite Care
The primary purpose of this family-focused service is to offer relief from the intensive demands caregivers feel when they are caring for their loved ones. Care providers need to have respite periods to attend to business, enjoy vacations and holidays, and be able to rest and recharge. This service provides an opportunity for the guest to socialize with others while assuring individual care needs are being met.
Hospice Care
For our residents who are terminally ill, we offer a large, private room for their use. The room has a private bath with shower, television, phone and sleeper sofas or recliners.
Spiritual Care
One of the Care Center’s most notable architectural features is the chapel, which provides a quiet, peaceful place for private and public worship. Its design accommodates independent residents and those with walkers and wheelchairs.
The Pastoral Care department has chaplains available to provide:
- sacramental ministry
- worship services
- spiritual counseling
- support for residents and their families
We welcome people of all faiths and work with them to have meaningful spiritual lives. Daily Mass and weekly Protestant services are available in the chapel for residents and visitors.
Social Services
Social workers assist residents and families through periods of adjustment and coordinate discharge planning for those individuals with short-term stays. In addition, social workers provide psychosocial assessments and work closely with other members of the Care Team to ensure the highest level of care for patients/residents.
Beauty/Barber Salon
The Care Center has a full-time staff, which offers a full line of services, including haircuts, perms and manicures.
