Exercise doesn't have to mean joining an expensive gym.

No pain, no gain — I don’t buy it. Exercising can be fun. It doesn’t have to be another chore to check off your list of things to do. It doesn’t have to mean joining an expensive gym or hiring a personal trainer.

The key is to find something that you enjoy. Think back to your childhood. You probably didn’t have an exercise routine. What did you enjoy doing as a child?

Try some of these fun ideas:

  • Hit a ping pong ball against the wall as fast as you can 100 times
  • Throw and hit a tennis ball against your garage door
  • Teach yourself to juggle
  • Play catch or Frisbee with your kids
  • Play fetch with your dog
  • Kick a soccer ball against the wall

Once your hand-eye coordination improves, add more complex movements to your activity. Shuffle from side-to-side, move forwards and backwards or spin around.

Don’t let your exercise become routine — have fun!
