Coborn Cancer Center breaks ground on new survivor buildingCoborn Cancer Center broke ground on Tuesday, Oct. 31st on a new survivor building to be named “Coborn Healing Center.” In a space next to Coborn Cancer Center, the Coborn Healing Center will offer services to care for the mind, body and spirit of those 7,000 people who begin or continue their cancer journey at Coborn Cancer Center.

Community cancer programs nation-wide acknowledge and recognize the healing care of oncology patients goes beyond physical treatment. Programming in the new building will include art and music therapy, Enhancement Program, support groups, spiritual well-being, fitness classes, integrative therapy (acupuncture, massage, healing touch) and an interactive kitchen/classroom.

Coborn Healing Center is the result of a recently completed $3.2 million fundraising campaign which included a $1-million lead gift from the Coborn Family Foundation. Construction will begin this week, and estimated completion date is mid-2018.
