St. Cloud Hospital Makes U.S. News & World Report Most Connected Hospitals List
St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud Hospital is among the U.S. News & World Report Most Connected Hospitals of 2015-16. Most Connected Hospitals 2015-16 recognized 126 U.S. medical centers in 34 states that met U.S. News’ standards spanning both digital connectivity and clinical excellence.
To identify the Most Connected Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed 56 variables from the most recent American Hospital Association (AHA) Annual Survey Information Technology Supplement, an IT survey that the AHA administers to hospitals nationwide. Responses to the survey, which was fielded from November 2013 to February 2014, were received from 3,276 U.S. hospitals.
To evaluate connectivity, U.S. News created three domains of survey questions that reflect a hospital’s overall commitment to health care’s ongoing digital revolution: Clinical Connectedness, Patient Engagement and Patient Safety. Hospitals that earned at least 90 percent of the total points available (a minimum of 55 out of 61 points) and also achieved a national ranking or high-performing recognition in the current edition of Best Hospitals, Best Hospitals for Common Care or Best Children’s Hospitals were recognized as Most Connected Hospitals.
