CentraCare Health – Monticello now offers family-centered births for families who are welcoming their baby through a cesarean delivery. The family-centered cesarean involves a clear drape that allows the mother and her partner to see the delivery of their baby. The clear drape also allows the mother to touch the baby right after delivery, while maintaining a safe and sterile environment for the new baby.

“We are proud to offer families in our community the chance to experience family-centered cesarean births,” said Hannah Whalen, RN, Birth Center Manager at CentraCare Health – Monticello. “As one of the early adopters of this delivery technique, we are happy to provide families with the opportunity to witness their babies’ births during a cesarean delivery.”

By providing family-centered cesarean births, CentraCare Health – Monticello demonstrates its commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
