Eliminating Distracted Driving in Our Communities

CentraCare Health – Monticello is committed to providing distracted driving education in order to support safety in our communities.

Every year in the U.S., almost half a million people are injured or killed in traffic accidents attributed distracted driving. By partnering with Safe Communities of Wright County and Just Drive, CentraCare Health – Monticello demonstrates its commitment to eliminating avoidable traffic injuries and fatalities.

“In the most recent Wright County Health survey, distracted driving was identified as the most concerning public health issue," said Melissa Pribyl, MSN, RN, Community Health and Wellness Specialist at CentraCare Health – Monticello.  “CentraCare Health – Monticello is dedicated to eliminating distracted driving in our communities. We have partnered with Safe Communities of Wright County and Just Drive to increase awareness around this common and potentially deadly action.  We are committed to educating young drivers and offering resources and activities such as a Virtual Driving Simulator that teaches safe driving. Studies show that 31 percent of high school students text and drive, we want to do our part to increase awareness and keep them and everyone in our community safe!”
