Description

For Lab Techs who support workflows, including:

  • Scheduling and Registering a Patient, which is limited to understanding patient station and knowing how to select the appropriate encounter
  • Receiving Specimens, which is using the Receiving activity to document the arrival and location of specimens
  • Creating a Packing List, which is using the  Packing List Editor to create a packing list, add and remove specimens, and send out and receive packing lists
  • Storing Specimens, which is using Container Storage to add and remove specimens from storage
  • Finding Information in Specimen Inquiry, which is using Specimen Inquiry to find information about tests, results, and patients
  • Follow-up Work List, which is using the Follow-up Work List to document communication of critical results and other result notification workflows
  • Resulting and Verifying a Test for Chemistry, Hematology and Microbiology which is using the Outstanding List as a work list to identify pending tests using the Setup Bench to document plating tasks, and using Result Entry to document the results of stains, tests on an isolate, susceptibility results, enter lab results and final verify tests to the chart
  • Performing Quality Control, which is manually creating QC specimens, document QC values, and generate a QC report
  • Running a Report in Beaker, which is running Lab Tech specific Reporting Workbench Reports and filtering reports
  • Order Inquiry, Collecting Outpatient Specimens, which is using the Collection activity to document the collection of patients' specimens
  • Collecting Inpatient Specimens, which is using patient lists to determine patients requiring draws and document collection, Collecting Specimens using Rover, which is using Rover, the Handheld Device, to document specimen collection.
