Register the child's support person
Note: The last half hour of the Day Camp is for siblings who will be attending the birth.
A support person (not the labor coach) MUST attend the Day Camp AND be present at the birth for each child.
This class is for brothers and sisters-to-be ages 3 to 5 and their parents or adult caregivers. Join us for this unique event featuring fun activities that will prepare your child for the arrival of a new baby. The morning includes information sharing and activities around a "campfire" and a HIKE to the newborn nursery in the Birth Center.
Children will learn about becoming an older sibling and how to interact with a new baby. Please bring a baby doll or teddy bear (if available) and a baby picture of the child attending the class ... and feel free to bring your camera, too!
A folder with information on how to help a child cope with a new baby will be given to the parents attending the class. We encourage those attending the class to share the information learned with others who care for the sibling-to-be, such as grandparents, other family members and babysitters.
Taught by St. Cloud Hospital Birth Center nurses.
Big Brother-Big Sister Day Camp is held at St. Cloud Hospital. Meet by the fireplace in the North Lobby at St. Cloud Hospital (use North Entrance).
Weather-Related Cancellations
If we need to cancel the class due to poor weather conditions, we will post an announcement on the WJON web site.
