We bring the class to you.

Our online childbirth education program is the perfect alternative to an in-person class. Our online childbirth class provides the trusted information you need. This course allows you access to essential information about labor and delivery from the comfort of your own home.

After registering, you will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to login to the class. You will have access for several months to review the course. You can complete the course at your own pace. The entire course takes about 4-6 hours. Available in English and Spanish.

Topics covered include:

  • Pregnancy: You will learn how the baby develops and how your body can change during pregnancy. You will also learn about preeclampsia & warning signs, signs of preterm labor, safe nutrition , common hazards, emotional changes, and more.
  • Labor: This class will help you learn all about the labor process including signs labor is near, onset of labor and the different stages of labor.
  • Birth Stories:  Diverse families and situations show how the stages of labor unfold in real life, inducing examples of a variety of comfort techniques-natural coping techniques, partner support and medicated discomfort relief techniques.
  • Comfort Techniques: Birth preferences, labor support, breathing, relaxation, massage, visualization, focal points, hydrotherapy, labor & pushing positions, back labor, and partner advice.
  • Medical Procedures:  Learn about decision-making, induction, fetal monitoring, IVs, analgesics & nitrous oxide, epidural anesthesia, labor and pushing positions with epidural, augmentation, and second-stage interventions.
  • Cesarean Birth: Reasons for a cesarean, types of cesareans, risks, anesthesia, recovery, breastfeeding after a cesarean and family-centered birth tips.
  • Newborns: Learn about the importance of skin-to-skin contact, baby’s first feedings, and newborn appearance. You will also learn about common newborn hospital procedures, rooming-in, baby’s senses, feeding cues, SUID and safe sleep, crying and shaken baby syndrome (abusive head trauma).
  • Postpartum: Learn about how your body changes after the baby is delivered, what to expect and how to care for yourself during your recovery. Additional important topics covered are baby blues, perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, postpartum warning signs and breastfeeding basics.
