Nutrition for the SCHEELS Half Marathon
Feel confident that your nutrition will see you through to the finish at the SCHEELS Half Marathon April 21 at the CentraCare Earth Day Run.
This class will cover:
- General sports nutrition recommendations to help improve performance while training and to avoid unnecessary fatigue
- When and how to change your intake as training gets more intense
- “Go-to” snacks
- Recovery foods for back-to-back workouts
- A week-long sample menu with ideas for fueling your body
By the end of the class, you will know how to create your own meal plan to accommodate the differing activity levels required when training. The class is led by Angela Beck, RD, LD. Individual sports nutrition appointments with Angela also are available.
Discounts are available for those going through the YMCA Half Marathon Training Program.
Ask us about our on-site child care. Children have access to the YMCA's Kid Zone while parents are using our services.
