St. Cloud Hospital Nationally Recognized for Inpatient Mental Health Services

St. Cloud, Minn. — St. Cloud Hospital recently was awarded Platinum designation by Optum, formerly known as United Behavioral Health, for the remarkable care provided to mental health inpatients. The Platinum designation is the highest level of achievement given by Optum. Of more than 500 facilities participating in the clinical quality program, St. Cloud Hospital was one of 80 nationwide and the only hospital in Minnesota awarded at the Platinum level.

The Platinum distinction is based on clinical data collected by Optum during the course of an entire year. Optum looked at specific criteria, such as readmission rates and average length of inpatient stay, and compared St. Cloud Hospital’s data to that of other regionally-based facilities. Of the several key data points examined, St. Cloud Hospital exceeded all.

“We are extremely proud and honored to have received this Platinum distinction,” said Dave Hartford, Behavioral Health care center director. “I think it’s truly a well-deserved acknowledgement of the great work being performed by our team here at St. Cloud Hospital. When a provider refers a patient to our facility, they know that patient is going to receive excellent care. Receiving Optum’s Platinum recognition affirms that our providers’ trust is well placed with St. Cloud Hospital.
