New Neurosurgeon Enhances Services, Increases Access at St. Cloud Hospital

St. Cloud Hospital Center for Neurosciences is pleased to welcome Paul Gigante, MD. Dr. Gigante is a neurosurgeon who is joining Central Minnesota Neurosciences in St. Cloud June 1. The addition of Dr. Gigante will increase access for patients who need neurosurgery services, caring for them close to home.

In addition to neurosurgery cranial and spine surgery services, Dr. Gigante completed specialized fellowship training in deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. He also is trained in the surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic pain condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from the face to the brain; and in spinal cord stimulation for chronic back and extremity pain syndromes.

Dr. Gigante received his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in 2006. He completed his residency and internship at Columbia University Neurological Surgery in 2012 and was a clinical instructor of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at Stanford University from 2012-2013.
